The lab was established in March 2019 at the University of Liverpool, U.K. and moved to Maynooth University, Rep. of Ireland in September 2022. Lab members will work to explore plant development and photosynthesis. Please get in touch if you would like to join the team.

Principle Investigator
Dr. Diarmuid Ó Maoiléidigh
Assistant Professor
Ph.D. Trinity College Dublin, Rep. of Ireland Postdoctoral research Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research, Germany Trinity College Dublin, Rep. of Ireland Previous faculty positions University of Liverpool, U.K.
Postdoctoral researcher
Dr. Róisín Fattorini
Róisín joined the group in March 2021 as a postdoctoral researcher. She completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge, investigating the genes underlying petal spot development in a South African daisy species. Róisín has an MRes in Ecology and Evolution, and an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences. She is interested in the regulation of floral organ photosynthesis and how these regulatory mechanisms vary between plant organs and species. She remains at the University of Liverpool to complete her postdoc.

BBSRC DTP PhD researcher
Jesse McCarthy
Jesse rejoined the group in October 2020 for his PhD research following his Master’s in Biological Sciences from the University of Liverpool. Jesse is interested floral organ photosynthesis and how transcription factors control this process is various species. He remains at the University of Liverpool to complete his PhD.
